On Monday Captain Rod welcomed a team from Bradford-on-Avon at 2 pm in the North Wilts Mixed at 2 pm and at 4 pm the hailstones came and all play ceased at about the 14th end score at end was 44-34 shots (10 – 2 pts)
In the evening start time 6-15 pm in the MWTL (Imagine Cruising) Cup competition Calne B took to the green against Chippenham Park A. from Division 1, the game started in a downpour, but unlike the afternoon game they managed to finish, final score 36 – 57 (0 – 12 pts).
Tuesday has 2 games at 2pm in the Men’s White Horse League, Calne A were away to Trowbridge Westbourne B in Div 3 and lost 14-17, meanwhile Calne B were at home to Chippenham Park B in Div 5 and won by 15 -11.25, unfortunately the visiting team was a man short, but it was a good/close game.
Tuesday evening at 6pm will have the ever popular Club night when a new member will be welcomed to the club.
On Thursday, in the Mid Wilts Triples League, Calne A were at home to Trowbridge Town A and won 66-50 (8-4pts) and Calne B were away to Spencer Melksham B and won 50-49 (10-2pts)
Sunday has the 2nd of our public open days, details on our home page, starting at 10 am until 3 pm. Members will be there early to prepare the club and we can only hope for good weather so that people can enjoy bowls and find out what a great game bowls is, refreshments will be available. Let’s hope the weather is kinder than last Saturday!
