The week started off with our first friendly of the year with a 4 rink triples game against Cirencester, who bravely crossed the M4 and for most of them it was their first visit expecting to find a small village! The weather was perfect for bowls, a real Goldilocks day – not too hot, not too cold, jusssst right. Started with a spider won by Steve P of Calne. After 10 ends broke for tea with Covid secure cakes etc before resuming play with Calne winning 80 – 71, 2 rinks each. Thanks to Les for the photos and Josie for the refreshments; looking forward to the return visit later this season.

Sunday was a great day and we had lots of visitors to the green, it proved to be a productive recruitment day. Many thanks to all those who helped today and to all those that attended, from the Baby, 4 year old and the dog! but none of those signed on. We hope that all our visitors had a good time and we look forward to seeing them again shortly.
At the end of the day we had a rush of visitors with all 5 rinks in use.
