With the Bank Holiday there was no North Wilts Mixed game , however on Tuesday in the White Horse League Calne ‘A’ were at home to North Wilts ‘B’ in division 3 and managed to win 19-13, whilst Calne ‘B’ were away to BoAls at Bradford on Avon, it was a close game and on the 17th end Calne ‘A’ managed a 4 and hung on to win 15-12.
In the evening it is Club Night, all are welcome, so if you think you might like to try bowls, why not come along and have a chat with our members, you can be assured of a warm welcome, start time is 5-30 and it runs until about 7-30.
On Wednesday in the Mid Wilts Triples ‘Imagine Cruising’ Trophy, Calne ‘A’ were away to Broughton Gifford and managed a fine 53-35 (11-1 pts) win.
And now for some light relief – on the green on Thursday.
Thursday in the League, Calne ‘A’ are at home to Devizes ‘B’ and unfortunately went down on 1 rink 6-35, however they won the other 2 rinks and eventually only lost the game 50-53 (4 – 8 pts), on the other hand, Calne ‘B’ were away to North Wilts ‘B’ and came away winners 55 – 40 (12-0 pts)
On Saturday we had a friendly against Malmesbury, but unfortunately due to the weather it had to be cancelled
