Sunday starts with a final in the Paul Mackie mixed singles competition, between Barry W and Ian G, resulting in a win for Barry W, but Ian is still smiling!
Later in the afternoon we had a friendly home game against Swindon North End, it was a very enjoyable game, with the home team managing to win 1 rink out of 5, but in terms of a friendly it was a draw.
On Tuesday in the WHL the ‘A’ team, who have already won the league are away to the second placed team Trowbridge Westbourne A and hoping to avenge their home defeat of 10-23, this they managed to do in a very tight game, 14-13. The ‘B’ team have an open day, but have managed to get to 4th place in division 5, a very creditable achievement, especially as the team has a lot of new players, learning the game.
The Ladies played each other in the Seidal League, a home game for the Greens. The Blues won the match which was followed by a drink and something to eat. In the evening it is the ever favourite Club Night.
On Thursday was the last games in the Men’s MWTL, with the A team ( who have already won the league) at home to Trowbridge Town B and they finished with a close win of 59-57 (8-4 puts). The B team were away to Trowbridge Town A and also came away with a win
To finish the week there was a friendly against Broomfield at Bath, unfortunately whilst we won 2 of the 3 rinks, we still lost 41 – 57. No news yet of the score on the 3rd rink or the team involved.
