On Sunday the Men played in the 1st round of the Bowls England Clubs Two Fours at home to Malmesbury, It resulted in a win 29-26 to Calne who now go on to the 2nd round game away to Chippenham Town. Here is the match report from my correspondent at the game.

The game was played in good conditions, on an excellent playing surface, it was nice to come up against old friends. Barry’s rink got off to a very good start with 4 shots on the first end and 11 – 1 up after 4 ends. Paul’s rink always trailed, but by regularly getting 2nd wood, after 8 ends were only 2 – 8 behind and with Barry continuing to go along nicely, Paul was able to play a containing game through to the end. This was a very good result for Calne, one the Club should be proud of.

We would like to thank the great bunch of guys from Malmesbury BC, and I personally pass on my thanks to Les and Derek for late call ups from Reserve and the rest of the teams for a superb performance. Thanks to Stuart & Pip for the buffet. Oh, and Paul for picking up his early morning call.
